There are many music teachers in St. Albert and only a few of them are excellent and true professionals. The definition of excellence, in my humble opinion, encompasses not only knowledge and great bedside manners but also devotion end passion for art of music.
Being a former member of one of the professional orchestra in Europe I have encountered certain difficulties in finding a proper piano teacher for my daughter. It is shocking how many individuals declare themselves professional musicians but the reality is quite opposite. I would like to say thank you and show my great appreciation to Joan Ritchie, who is an awesome music teacher, here in St. Albert. She is very professional, tactful, and knowledgeable.
Joan encourages her students to set higher aspirations and never fails in providing all necessary knowledge and support to achieve it. Her enthusiasm, endless energy, and innovative approach are truly amazing. For many years she and her students have been involved in various musical festivals, competitions and events both in Edmonton and St. Albert. The final outcomes are impressive. For several consecutive years, the best of her students have been awarded by the Canadian National Conservatory of Music, received various scholarships and received recommendations for the music festivals at the provincial level.
Joan has been searching for new and existing methods of teaching and musical experiences not only in Canada but also overseas. I believe that my daughter is lucky to have such a wonderful and unique teacher to learn from in many different ways.
