Evidence does not support intelligent design

Intelligent design? It has come to my understanding that there are still several individuals upholding the pseudo-science known as intelligent design or creationism.

Intelligent design? It has come to my understanding that there are still several individuals upholding the pseudo-science known as intelligent design or creationism. In light of the compelling evidence brought forth by the theory of evolution, it is unfathomable to me as to why the teachings of intelligent design continue to be passed down from generation to generation.

Before I continue, I must admit that I understand most people of faith do support the growing mountain of evidence that science brings forth. I am rather targeting the religious "extremists" with this letter. Those who pass intelligent design on to their children are withholding their right to a legitimate education. The Earth is billions of years old, not just a few thousand. Dinosaurs have been extinct for 65 million years and did not co-exist with humans.

The watchmaker argument is a straw man argument. And sorry to break it to you creationists out there, but we did evolve from primates. The fossil record backs up that statement. As ridiculous as some of these statements are, these are just some absurd core beliefs of intelligent design.

Not a single accredited educational institution teaches creationism and it is shocking that Darwin’s great discovery is still a controversial topic today.
