Just want to give a big shout out to the person on Ellington Crescent who started the “You've Been Elf-ed” on our block.
It was fun watching my children open the door to find a surprise gift left for us with no name on it. We then went and picked out our gift and the excitement of watching them go up to a house, ring the doorbell and run as fast as they could and hide, was priceless. They hid until the person opened the door to find the gift they left and they giggled with excitement.
My eight-year-old said to me, “Mom, it’s awesome we are allowed to ‘ding dong ditch’ someone and not get into trouble.” I have to say that’s the first time I've heard “ding dong ditch.”
Thanks to whoever you are. What a great neighbourhood tradition.
