Driver wants more signs

I read with interest the letter from a resident in Dorchester about his receiving a speeding ticket as he was caught by radar speeding at a playground where apparently there was a speed limit posted. Now, in St. Albert I had never seen a speed limit posted at a playground, until I received a ticket that seemingly I had sped at 45 km/h through this playground speed limit of 30.

Not only ONCE but on two separate occasions. I was dumbfounded as I had not seen any such speed limit before. So I drove to the site of my infraction and sure enough just under the playground sign was a tiny sign saying 30 km/h which if you blinked you would miss. I am really so ticked off. If there needs to be a speed limit posted, please make it big enough that we can see it a short distance away!

St Albert needs to change these signs and school signs where the smallest part of the sign is actually the speed limit! Edmonton signs have large speed limit signs for school zones and playgrounds. I was lucky I had a nice Crown prosecutor but I still had to pay for one of my infractions!
