Don't litter

I, like many other St. Albert residents, walk the streets and trails daily with my dogs. I carry two sets of bags with me – one for dog waste and a much larger one for all the litter we pick up along the way.

I, like many other St. Albert residents, walk the streets and trails daily with my dogs. I carry two sets of bags with me – one for dog waste and a much larger one for all the litter we pick up along the way. While we all know that it is 100 per cent unacceptable to leave dog waste behind, why is it OK to throw away wrappers, bags, cups etc. etc. anywhere and everywhere? Litter is infesting soccer fields, school yards, trails, and parks to name a few. What boggles the mind is that a lot of what I pick up is three feet away from a garbage can.

Please adults, dispose of your garbage properly – and children, remember that this is the land you will inherit. Don’t turn our beautiful city into a garbage dump. You wouldn’t dump your trash on the floor in your house so please don’t do it outside.
