We were disappointed to see Rotary Park mistakenly referred to as Riel Park in Wednesday’s front page story on Canada Day Festivities (“Canada: there’s no place like home”).
In 2012, the Saint City Rotary Club spearheaded the construction of what is now Rotary Park, converting an old dump site to a new park with 550 metres of trail, a playground, 15 picnic tables with barbecue pits, and four park benches for all to enjoy.
With assistance from the Rotary Club of St. Albert, Rotary District 5370, the City of St. Albert and the Government of Alberta, we were able to officially open the park on Sept. 20, 2014. We continue to consider and work on park improvements.
It would be nice to receive recognition for these efforts by at least getting the name right by your paper.
