I am astounded that people from St. Albert are falling for scams from CRA and others. I have had emails and calls from CRA, Paypal and Apple either telling me that I owe or telling me I have ordered something I haven't and all want me to click on a link.
If you get a call from CRA you know it is bogus! CRA will not call you and ask you for private information. Paypal usually says they have received your payment for something you have ordered but if that isn't what you ordered then you click on a link. Now it is not really Paypal that is emailing you. So you never click on a link. I have had emails and calls from supposedly CRA either saying I owe them or saying they owe me.
Never give information over the phone. I am a senior of 79 years and I know a scam when I see it! I advise everyone not to answer phone calls when you don't know the caller. Let them leave a message.
