Sturgeon County does it again. This county only knows how to spend, with no feedback from the actual residents on how they should or might spend.
Without a public vote, we are now going to be paying for a new recreation centre and, surprise, new offices for county officials! Really? That’s where everyone’s tax dollars are going?
A city the size of St. Albert has trouble sustaining Servus Place but “we’re” going to build and sustain a rec centre? We already have higher taxes than all the counties around us, but we have none of the services they do. No garbage pickup, water, sewer, and for most of the county, no paved roads.
All the counties around us have paved roads – for everyone – and less taxes. We received new gravel that probably cost a lot of money this summer, but the roads are now back to potholes and dirt again.
If you want to keep the residents from moving, perhaps you should think about all the population and nut just a select few.
So tired of paying money out and not receiving anything in return. When’s the next election? It’s time for a change!
