On Jan. 26, I, along with thousands of people attended the regimental funeral for Const. David Wynn.

I was able to see the procession making its way down Poirier Avenue. To see the sea of red and blue of law enforcement men and women walk behind Const. Wynn was a powerful experience. I was fortunate enough to be among thousands in Servus Credit Union Place. I watched the funeral on many big screens set up on the courts. It was truly an emotional event.

Without question, the moment of silence for Cost. Wynn prior to the conclusion was absolute peace.

To all the staff and volunteers who worked together to make this a memorable event, I thank-you. It was unbelievable to see the hundreds, possibly thousands of people from across Canada as well as American Law Enforcement and Peace officers.

Finally, with respect to the RCMP and the men and women who serve this law enforcement institution, that were present on this day to say goodbye, I salute each and every one of you. Const. Wynn was one of your brothers, and you honoured him in a way that all of us will never forget.

Const. David Wynn, a Husband, Father, Friend, Mountie, and to those of us who never met or knew him, he is a hero.

Ken Procinsky, St. Albert
