City handled wayward tree properly

I would like to commend the outstanding response and diligence of City of St. Albert crews that responded to an incident during the afternoon of Friday, July 25, 2014 in the Mission Hill area of town.

I would like to commend the outstanding response and diligence of City of St. Albert crews that responded to an incident during the afternoon of Friday, July 25, 2014 in the Mission Hill area of town.

During the prolonged heavy rain showers on that day, a large elm tree collapsed onto the roadway of Madonna Drive from Mission Park (Seven Hills) by the tennis courts, likely from the heavy amount of water on its branches, narrowly missing a female motorist driving under it. It was amazing to see that within 10 minutes of the occurrence, City of St. Albert crews arrived on the scene and had the roadway sealed off and immediately proceeded to clear the debris.

Even though that area of roadway is currently under construction/repair by early evening that same day the crews had cleaned up the area so well you could hardly tell where this occurred. My hat’s off to City of St. Albert crews for a job well done!
