Chief's expenses outrageous

Further to your article ( Gazette , July 12), I'm just gob-smacked that nobody in your reading audience saw fit to write about this.

Further to your article (Gazette, July 12), I'm just gob-smacked that nobody in your reading audience saw fit to write about this. It is outrageous that Chief Kurt Burnstick from the Alexander First Nation Reserve racked up more than $400,000 in expenses for a total of $552,565.92. We always see in the media and papers that that roads and houses are in need of repair. Also the band councillors are pulling in anywhere from $122,000 to $151,000. To my way of thinking these amounts are outrageous. This article also states by way of comparison that St. Albert Mayor Nolan Crouse earned $122,508 in 2016, plus another $24,000 from the Capital Region Board. My question is this: what about the rest of the Alexander First Nation band members? Are they living in poverty? Gerry Segger, St. Albert
