This is St. Albert! For goodness sake!!!!! Have any of you council members ever raised chickens – hens – do you know the sounds they make (cluck cluck cluck). Never mind the smell. Have any of you ever had to clean a chicken coop?? Obviously not. Chicken poop is the vilest smelling stuff next to pig poop. What is wrong with you people?
St. Albert taxes are St. Albert taxes for a reason. We the people of this city choose to live here and pay the higher taxes because of the laws in this city! I think and know this is a very bad idea – go visit a small farm operation and go and get down and dirty by offering to clean a chicken coop – you then will never pass this program!
The city is already complaining about people not cleaning up after their dogs. How then do you think they will clean up after chickens? Honestly, I have heard everything.
I have nothing against raising chickens – I did – I came from a farm. That being said, there is a proper place for them to be raised and that is not within the city limits. You want to raise chickens – by a farm!
