Edmonton-based Wild Earth Bakery CafĂ© has moved into the Enjoy Centre. In a news release, owners Dee Bateman and Greta Sieben said the move allowed them to expand their bread line and produce more “scratch baking” items that customers can buy at the cafĂ© and bake at home. The cafĂ© now has four locations in Edmonton and one in St. Albert.
Wild Earth Bakery Café serves everything from baked goods, signature cakes, soups, salads, sandwiches and savoury foods, all made in house. The Enjoy Centre is located at 101 Riel Dr. For more information on locations and hours go to wildearthbakery.com.
One of the last businesses located in the former Grandin mall has vacated its premises. Force on Force Tactical Training opened in the basement of Grandin Park Plaza in 2012, beneath the Scotiabank. The indoor training facility was set up for military and police personnel to train for real-life scenarios with airsoft guns. The business was also open to the public.
After suspected vandals caused a flooding in the building, the business lost most of its savings to repairs. Force on Force has now been closed. Co-owner Scott Collacutt said they still hope to find a new location somewhere else.
St. Albert Centre is giving away a trip to New York City for New Year’s Eve. The contest runs from Nov. 12 to 24. Applicants can enter into the contest at the NYC kiosk at the mall. If they show a receipt valued at more than $75 at customer service they receive additional paper ballots.
Customers who take a photo in front of the mall’s holiday display and post it to St. Albert Centre’s Facebook page through Nov. 24 also receive an additional entry to the New York City trip.
