Bus driver should know better

I would like to make an observation about the bus driver who was at the intersection of Hebert and Akins (heading onto Falstaff) on the morning of Sunday, June 8 2014 at approximately 9:30.

I would like to make an observation about the bus driver who was at the intersection of Hebert and Akins (heading onto Falstaff) on the morning of Sunday, June 8 2014 at approximately 9:30.

There was some sort of children's bike race on Sunday and there was one lane of traffic on Hebert that was blocked off for the race.

At the intersection there were volunteers to help keep the kids safe and direct traffic if needed. The bus driver in question had a green light but one of the volunteers was standing in the intersection with a stop sign as there were children approaching and crossing the intersection.

The bus driver proceeded into the intersection and kept trying to drive through despite the volunteer’s attempts to stop him. I would hope that a bus schedule is not so important that it is worth risking hitting a child.
