Bring back minor lacrosse

St. Albert, Sherwood Park and some Edmonton communities have proud traditions of supporting minor lacrosse. In fact, a team from St. Albert attended the national play-offs one year, in Delta B.C., and won half the games; including against City of Vancouver. A St. Albert player was named to the national all-star team.

Sadly, the pro league, the NLL, no longer plays from Edmonton. Yesterday, we had to drive to Calgary to watch a game between the “Saskatchewan” Rush and the Calgary Roughnecks. We wore our Edmonton Rush uniforms and received many comments about that: “When is Edmonton getting back to the league?”

If our mayor reads this, perhaps he will be moved to make contact with mayors of Edmonton and Sherwood Park and encourage some action.
