Re: Gun shop theft (Gazette, Feb. 10). Why didn't this business have some kind of security camera system? I see no mention of anything in your article only that the shop owner was considering upgrading his security system.
Businesses of this type (including the inevitable cannabis stores that will open up) should be forced to comply with high standards of security to prevent theft. As there has been prior incidents involving theft at this gun shop location it's no wonder the thieves keep coming back.
Your article says "it looks like they used a pry bar open the front door.".... Looks like? Get a camera! Why hasn't the RCMP or the City of St. Albert mayor's office made these types of business protect themselves so we don't have stolen weapons (and drugs) flooding our streets.
On a side note ... Why does the shop have specialized weapons that you can't even purchase ammunition for?
