Beautiful noise a celebration of St. Albert

I am a senior who moved from Vancouver with her young family to St. Albert in 1982 during the recession. We all know what a wonderful community this is for families and the degree of volunteerism it takes for so many good things to happen for the people of St. Albert. The inaugural Seven Fest is a wonderful example of this.

I had to shake my head a few times as the fond memories of my kids attending Ecole Father Jan and the sleighing down Seven Hills in the winter flooded back as I was swaying and dancing to the great music coming from the stage. We celebrated some of the accomplished, young St. Albert talent before the headliners took to the stage and then were delighted when some of the main acts like Tupelo Honey, Current Swell, Scenic Route to Alaska, and others had St. Albert roots with some of their musicians.

We should all be so proud of the community St. Albert is and is becoming. Last night was a celebration of St. Albert and Canadian musical talent. It couldn't have happened without a community of volunteers, citizens, and a city council who took a risk.

Congratulations St. Albert, and a 'shout out' to the neighbours who I hope found more pleasure than pain from the beautiful noise.

Jill Swann-Lussier, St. Albert
