Re: boys under three in pool change room (St. Albert Gazette Your Views, July 18).
This is absolutely ludicrous! A child at five years old is a child. Does not matter what sex they are. They are a small child. The family change room to me is great when my daughter and her husband go to the pool with their child. They can go in together and they are a family. There are only two large change rooms and four small ones. And in the family one, you have to go in a change room.
The women’s has two sides with lots of benches. Ideal for changing and sitting on a bench and putting your bags on. Also teaching your children their bodies are that, just a body that they don’t have to be ashamed of or hide it. Can you even imagine at swim class times the hundreds of children going through? How could they possibly get through the change room in time for classes?
Small children need their parents’ assistance and in this day and age, sometimes their protection. The letter to the editor said several ladies complained. Well, several is few compared to the thousands that go through. You are the minority. I suggest you go in a change room.
