Arguments in favour of evolution less than compelling

Mr. Pasternak had some rather large holes in his argument and it is a shame that he asserts that opinion as some sort of pillar of truth. In the words of our teens: Give me a break!

Evolution has been proven? The reality is that there are significant problems with the theory and it has taken the concerted efforts of dedicated academia to ensure any dissenting view is not aired. There is anecdotal evidence of people losing tenure, missing advancement, or even losing their jobs as university professors because they had the courage to point out those problems. Check out this website here: www.trueorigin.org/slaughter.asp.

Some of the difficulties reside with the required belief in an uncaused cause called the Big Bang. Even Einstein fudged the numbers with his “Universal Constant” so as to not face this problem. He had to recant with the overwhelming evidence of the truth.

Another issue is the belief in “spontaneous generation” that is required for Darwinism to work. I heard it said that what is needed to produce the first amino acid in the primordial soup is something to the order of one grain of sand in all the beaches of the Earth. And you accuse me of not being logical?

Darwin himself said the problem with the lack of fossil evidence is because of the lack of fossils. One-hundred-fifty years ahead now and we have a gazillion fossils, none of which are irrefutable as to being “transitions.” Our “Tree of Life” has a lot of nodes with conjecture at best connecting them. Sorry, but this does not sustain your statement that “Evolution can be proven.” There are a lot of scientists that would disagree with you. I think there needs to be some honesty kneaded into this debate. I think that could be accomplished by teaching the controversy. I am not anti-science. I just want scientists held to an accountability that now seems lacking. Giving one side of a debate and demanding that the other be censured will never get to the truth. What exactly are you afraid of? God? Don’t worry. He loves you.
