Applause for city snow clearing efforts

I want to applaud the efforts that the city has made to clear the roads over the last couple of snowfalls. I know there have been some comments printed in the Gazette about inefficient snow removal, but as a new resident to St. Albert, I want to ensure folks that the work here is leagues above what I experienced in the north side of Edmonton.

I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent job removal crews did in the streets of Erin Ridge. The roads have been scraped, cleared and sanded. The driveway entrance to my house was even cleared after the heavy, packed snow was cleared from the street. It almost felt like a custom job just for me. And the trails and sidewalks have even been cleared.

I think we should feel thankful to have our winter roads maintained the way they are. We live in a country that benefits from a lot of snow. Yes, it takes some time to get roads running smoothly, but these are first world problems that really doesn't warrant the targeting the road crews. I say 'hats off' to the city and the men and women who are doing a great job keeping our roads and trails safe.
