I share the frustration of B.M. Dusza about the changes to the St Albert recycling system (St. Albert Gazette, Your Views, Nov. 14).
However, rather than considering the easy way out, and expressing the classic “why bother” sentiment, I am making the effort to learn and adjust to this change.
I have been an avid recycler for over 45 years, starting at a time when metal cans were the only material to recycle. Much has changed since then, and recycling is now a mainstream activity in community waste management.
However, much more needs to change if our species is going to survive the self-destructive path we are on from the management of the waste we produce.
