The generosity of St. Albertans continues. At their June 10 annual dinner and auction, Rotarians and their guests raised $13,300 for the St. Albert Community Village and Food Bank.
This money goes to supporting food hampers to the needy of both St. Albert residents and families displaced by the Beast, the fire at Fort McMurray.
The combination of the downturn in the economy and the fire at Fort McMurray has increased the number of hampers from a monthly average of approximately 135 in 2015 to 210 to 220 this year. Now, over 43,000 pounds of food are given out each month. Fortunately the generosity of the people in St. Albert has allowed us to handle the increase. We will continue to need your support. As usual, donations may be brought to the Community Village or placed in the bins at various locations in St. Albert. Monetary donations may be sent to the Community Village and Food Bank at 50 Bellerose Drive.
Once again, thank you, thank you.
Charles Schroder, President, St. Albert Community Village and Food Bank, St. Albert
