I found it interesting to read in the City Lights section (Gazette, Oct. 7) that the opening of the hot tub in Fountain Park had been delayed until the end of October. That’s after a six-week shut down to replace filters for the competition pool and hot tub. Could this not have been coordinated at the same time? At the moment you will see that at least six additional supports have been placed around the windows. The concrete has been removed around two of the pillars in order to do repairs. I can’t help but wonder why it was not done at least two years earlier. That there was a problem was obvious. Those of us who see it every day have been commenting on it for some time. We have witnessed numerous “inspections” during that time without anything being done to rectify the problem. Is it possible for the seniors and others who use it to sooth sore muscles after a vigorous workout to either get a credit for not being able to use it or a free pass to Servus Place so we can use the hot tub there? The delay is very frustrating, however, we should probably be used to it since it did take three months to replace a piece of glass for the steam room. Johannes Bosch, St. Albert
