MP Cooper mailout criticized for simplistic and inflammatory rhetoric

I recently received a mailout from Michael Cooper, MP, regarding the money paid to Omar Khadr. It was filled with an appalling combination of half-truths, and innuendo.

I recently received a mailout from Michael Cooper, MP, regarding the money paid to Omar Khadr. It was filled with an appalling combination of half-truths, and innuendo. Our Member of Parliament should help us all aspire to our best, not pander to our worst. I would expect a more measured tone, a tone more cognizant of the nuances of Mr. Khadr's case to come from our parliamentary representative. I did not appreciate the simplistic and inflammatory rhetoric used by Mr. Cooper. Mr. Cooper's mailout was designed to appeal to those who will take the bait of his loaded language and provide him with the answers he desires. Then he can rise majestically from his seat in the House of Commons and proclaim that his constituents have spoken. (I can use loaded words too.) Mr. Cooper's mailout is an outrageous abuse of taxpayers' money. Maggie Clayton, St. Albert
