I saw the sign advertising the Christmas Market on my way home from work Nov. 1. I was shocked to see the date of the event, Nov. 4. It is insulting to see Christmas decorations and treats being sold and displayed before Remembrance Day. Remembering the sacrifice of our fallen service men and women is washed over by eagerness to make a few quick bucks off the holidays. Thousands of families across this great country are without sons, fathers, mothers and daughters due to sacrifices made protecting citizens. Let's ensure appropriate time is spent honouring them. There are 43 days between Remembrance Day and Christmas. I hope our city can pick one of those days next year to host the Christmas Market. Billy Redpath, St. Albert
