At approximately 5 p.m. on May 14, the St. Albert Fire Services received a call reporting a vehicle fire at the intersection of Poirier Avenue and Campbell Road.

In an email, city spokesperson Nicole Lynch said the St. Albert Fire Services responded to the call with two engines and the platoon chief.

The vehicle was a small camper van and was fully engulfed in fire when crews arrived at the scene. According to Lynch, initial concerns had to do with onboard propane tanks; however, the fire was quickly contained.

The vehicle had one occupant who was able to exit the camper van safely. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
