Lesley-Anne is the founder of MeVest, a company that empowers you to become financially fit for a lifetime. She has been recognized as a WXN Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, and by Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40. You can find MeVest online, as well as on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Why did you launch MeVest?
I launched MeVest to help people make friends with their money. I was fortunate to have a money mentor, which changed my life. I wanted to do the same for others in North America. In 2014 I opened my doors and now we are 100% virtual.
Please describe MeVest
We are best known for our money coaching as well as our course-based learning. Our money coaching is 1-on-1 and geared at helping people work on a custom plan for their finances. Our courses are group-based, but also geared at helping students develop a financial plan using our methodology. Our most popular courses are The Secret Art of Building Wealth and Money Boss. Pre-pandemic, we were 100% money coaching with the occasional course. Post-pandemic, it’s a 50/50 split, and we love the new model.
What are some of the contributing factors to your success and how do you stand out from the competition?
My story helps to set us apart. I was on Oprah at the age of 17 to talk about financial literacy, and that changed everything for me. From that experience I became a three-time bestselling author, speaker, and professional coach. Today, though, what really sets us apart is our focus on money mindset (we work from a place of positive money psychology) combined with rock-solid financial tools. When these two pieces are put together, we get unstoppable progress with our students.
What is MeVest’s greatest challenge at the moment?
I think it’s simply that the demand is so huge for financial education right now. We are always working hard to determine the best ways to expand our impact while running a very lean team.
What do you love the most about what you do?
Changing lives, helping people feel empowered with their finances, and seeing the results that happen in such a short period of time. This is what keeps us motivated.
What do you love about your business community? How can the local and business community support you?
I love that we come together to find different ways to support each other’s clients, which is amazing. I think the best way to support each other is to try to keep the business growing and flowing among each other.
What’s next for you? For MeVest?
Personally, I’m having another baby shortly and that means continuing to grow my family. Professionally, we are continuing to grow our reach, our community, and our programs.
