June 25 sees Havoc On The Hill as pro wrestlers assemble near the ski hill to battle it out. It’s all in support of the Community Initiative Program, which connects new Canadians and at-risk youth to uplifting outdoor activities.
August 20-23 sees the return of the much anticipated ESO at Snow Valley. More than 1,400 guests are expected to enjoy the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in a beautiful outdoor setting. Over 100 elements to conquer provide three levels of challenges from beginner to expert, and with up to two hours of climb time, there is a chance to conquer them all. Will you master the hanging canoe on level three? Ride the bronco saddle on level one? Or figure out how to use the ropes to get from platform to platform on level two? Stay in your comfort zone or push your limits – with a strong harness and expertly maintained site, you are safe to play to your heart’s content. The tower is suitable for all ages and does not have a weight restriction.
After that you’ll want to do something just as fun, but where you can catch your breath, so it’s off to Whitemud Creek Mining Co. Just steps away from the tower, this attraction honours the mining company that is a foundational part of the city’s history. Relieve those glory days by purchasing a bag of mining rough from the campground office. Head to the sluice for panning instructions. Discover your treasures and take home the real gemstones and fossils that you find.
