Shannon Roche, Director and owner of Divine & Free, opened the wellness boutique and medical spa in 2020. A full suite of services is offered, ranging from traditional pedicures and facials to cosmetic injectables, laser hair removal and Morpheus8.

“We are 100% owned and operated by women,” smiles Roche.

She notes, “Women take on so many roles, it’s a wonder we can keep up with all the tasks and responsibilities! As women, we are infamous for forgetting that we matter too and realizing that if we aren't taking care of ourselves, it has a domino effect on our lives and all the people that rely on us. At Divine & Free, we want our clients to know that you can come, not feel rushed, take an hour to recharge and feel ready to get back to mastering your life. We believe that beauty is how you feel and not a fabrication of how you look, and we are all beautiful in our own way. It is that uniqueness that makes each and every one of us special.”

Divine & Free’s Lifestyle Collection membership programs help clients experience a wide range of services in the way that best suits their needs.

Roche explains, “The Signature membership is our flagship program. Our team of skin specialists will work with you each month to assess your skin and skincare goals and provide customized treatments and recommendations. There are a wide range of facial options to choose from, including our popular Oxygeneo 3-in-1 Super Facial.

“The Premium membership offers an expansive range of laser treatments, medical spa treatments, injectables and facials to give you access to tailored and transformative treatment options at the discretion and assistance of our skincare specialists.

“Our Smooth collection is a dedicated hair removal program. Each month you can choose to treat three small areas, two medium areas or one large area with laser hair removal.

“Members also get access to our new and exclusive 10-20-30 program. This includes 10% off regular-priced products and services, refer a friend and you both get 20% off a service of your choice and 30% off laser hair removal.”

Services, such as Morpheus8 skin resurfacing and physician-provided cosmetic injections, can also be purchased as individual services.

“We strive to elevate the industry and give our clients premium treatments and results,” says Roche. “We invest heavily in staff training and ensure we have high-quality products and services for our clients. We have been fortunate enough to have several of our before and after photographs of our work published with our distributors to show the capabilities of the technologies we offer.”

The team is very invested in the community. Roche says, “Divine & Free is a business that loves to support local. We donate to youth sports teams, the St. Albert Seniors Association, the Rotary Club of St. Albert, Run Wild, Stop Abuse in Families Society (SAIF) and many more. Life comes full circle; being active and part of a community helps create awareness, networks and a sense of pride and accomplishment in giving back.”

She advises other women thinking about entrepreneurship, “Being a woman in business has been so empowering. I am able to look at my business, what we have achieved as a team, and how far we have already come and know that I am building my dream and sharing it with my community. People will always support people. To be a successful entrepreneur, ensure you live and breathe the ideal of being someone that supports your community and in return, your community will support you.”

Recently, Divine & Free won the St. Albert and District Chamber of Commerce Ignite Award for the most dynamic startup.

“I am always looking for new services to offer our clients, and consistently improving all we have to offer. I can't wait to watch us grow,” Roche concludes.
