Welcome to Steamoji – St. Albert, a unique Maker Academy where kids don’t just learn about science and technology, they become inventors, engineers, and future entrepreneurs.
"As an engineer and a parent, I love teaching kids real-world IT and maker skills — and at Steamoji, we’ve put together an engaging, project-based curriculum that makes learning fun and meaningful." says Salman, the passionate owner of Steamoji – St. Albert, chuckling modestly during our conversation. But behind that simple desire is a powerful, well-designed curriculum that’s preparing kids to tackle the world's most pressing challenges through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
Learning by Doing: The Steamoji Way
At Steamoji, kids learn by doing, literally. The academy’s approach is hands-on and mission driven. Whether it's designing in CAD software, coding microcontrollers, or building robots, students’ progress by completing interactive, real-world projects. Each session is structured around a “mission”, with kids engaging in projects that challenge their logic, creativity, and teamwork skills.
“We want to teach the next generation of builders, makers, kids who can think outside the box and create solutions, products, even companies for the good of the world,” Salman explains.
Beyond Coding: A Holistic STEM Curriculum
Unlike other programs that focus purely on programming, Steamoji’s strength lies in its multidisciplinary approach. Kids explore:
- Engineering and Fabrication
- Digital Arts and Design
- Physical Computing
- Coding and Robotics
From building circuits to designing in 3D and even using household objects to solve real-world problems, students gain exposure to future-critical skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Summer Camps That Spark Innovation
This summer 2025, Steamoji - St. Albert is running a series of 5-day STEM camps for ages 8 to 15, each centered around a unique project:
- Arduino in Action
Kids create a working sensor machine using coding, electronics, 3D printing, and fabrication. They bring their inventions to life, literally.
- Lightbulb Moment
Campers build three custom-designed 3D printed lamps using CAD, circuits, and coding. The best part? They take their creations home.
- Marble Run Madness
It’s engineering meets creativity as kids design and build roller coasters for marbles using everyday materials, learning design, testing, and teamwork along the way.
And don’t worry, no prior experience is required. “We teach them everything they need to know from scratch,” Salman explained. They walk away with confidence and real skills like coding, electronics, fabrication, design, planning and very important, teamwork, the whole package.
A Place Where Kids Thrive
The proof of Steamoji’s impact is written across the faces of the kids, and in the words of parents. One parent, Abigail, shared:
“My 6-year-old comes home glowing with excitement, eager to show what he’s built. It’s been amazing to watch his creativity, confidence, and problem-solving grow. The staff are friendly and make learning truly fun. It’s the best investment we’ve made in his future.”
Unlike programs that stick to a rigid path, Steamoji’s curriculum is flexible. “If a child isn’t enjoying one path, we shift them to another that better suits their interests,” Salman explains. It’s about engagement, excitement, and growth.
