Just pick it up already

As a responsible pet owner I clean up my dog’s daily "presents" both on and off my property. That is one of the not so pleasant joys of pet ownership. Too bad there are those that feel the world is their dogs’ bathroom.

That is one of the not so pleasant joys of pet ownership. Too bad there are those that feel the world is their dogs’ bathroom. However for those of us walking through Northridge, it is not out of sight for us. Every year I am disgusted by the amount of dog poop that is left everywhere.

Come on people — if you have the energy to walk your dog, you have the energy to bend down and pick up their poop. Think about the young kids that play in the snow. Would you be happy if your child came home covered in more than snow? Do you think about the diseases children and/or other pets can contract? Walmart has packs of 90 bags for around $6 that will handle any load.

I think that is far less costly than the fine of $250. After all, civic pride is priceless.
