As residents of Kingswood, I, like many others, have a dog. Typically, when the dog goes for a walk it needs to do its business. Therefore, we take disposable bags with us for the obvious. When the dog has finished - bend down; scoop it up with a bag. Dispose of said bag. Job done. Easy. Kingsbury Crescent however has become a free-range area for dog owners to let their beloved doggies poo anywhere.
I have concluded that there are dog owners who are:
1.Too stupid to own a dog.
2. Too lazy to pick up after the dog.
3. Just darn ignorant.
4. All of the above.
My guess is option four. Not that I am keen on taking photographs of the subject matter in question, I did take one of the latest pile left on someone's front yard. At first glance, I thought elephants had invaded us and that the image could win a prize from National Geographic but then I came to my senses again and realized that human being(s) option four (as above) was back on the street.
Therefore, all dog owners and non-dog owners need to take some action. We should urge all local residents to stop dog walkers and ask them to show the bag (full or empty), or take a photograph of the dog owner if you see them just leave the dog’s business and send it to the police – after all you are breaking a bylaw! These may sound like silly measures but let us put it this way, I do not want to be the one having to heave away piles of elephant (a.k.a. dog) poo! Please, can you do something to remind owners to take a bag and pick it up? It really is not that difficult!
