I would like to shout out a big thank you to members of the U13 AA Raider Stars hockey team. I was pleasantly surprised when a couple members of the team rang my doorbell last Friday and offered to rake the leaves from my front yard. I thought that would be great, since I live on a corner lot with five big boulevard trees and asked them what they charged. They said they would do it for nothing. There were five young fellows and a gentleman that I believe was their coach. In no time they had the leaves raked and bagged. It was so refreshing to see the enthusiasm exhibited by these young athletes to perform a good deed for a senior citizen. Hats off to the Raiders organization for teaching their athletes how to give back to the community. A big thank you to the coach for modelling what it means to be a good citizen. Your efforts help to make St. Albert a great community.
