LETTER: Coyotes taking over Mission neighbourhood

Not safe to walk in Mission!

We have always been aware that we live on a wildlife belt and understand that man encroaches on nature. It’s totally another experience to be face to face with an enormous coyote with 3 inch paws (yes I measured) saving my standard Schnauzer from attack with only seconds to spare right at my back door. I called the city and they won’t do anything. The second night a pack of coyotes in the front yard. I called Fish & Wildlife and coyotes discovered deer carcass a few doors down. Come on people now they are territorial and think Mission is their new best hunting grounds. Human error yes, but still doesn’t help me in the backyard surrounded by coyotes in downtown St Albert.

Feeling helpless and scared.
