My husband and I have read Scott Hayes' article, “A coyote den means a ‘hole’ of a problem". We believe that this female coyote is ready to have her pups and has no time to find a new den site. That is why she is being so stubborn about staying at the Penners'.
Coyotes breed in January and February and have pups from the middle of April to the middle of May. She is desperate to have her pups where she has chosen it will be safe.
