I read the article about Ernst & Young being selected for St. Albert's operational and fiscal review ("At City Hall: Firm chosen for review," Aug. 26 Gazette). So, hiring a third party (overseen by council committee) – my question is, what are the members of council paid to do? Just delegate?
Another interesting point is St. Albert's chief administrative officer Kevin Scoble told council to expect a price tag of about $1 million, which came in pretty darn close at $960,000. The goals of the review as stated in the third paragraph of the article, in my opinion, is the responsibilty of each, and every, member of council ... not to be farmed out to third parties.
