Construction projects wasting residents time

It's hard to feel like the city transportation planning department respects the valuable time of citizens and the pride in our city.

From the perspective of time, when you look at the Villeneuve Road projects this summer, they cut off access to St. Albert Trail on two separate occasions for everyone that uses Villeneuve Road. The first time was for several months to do the traffic circles beside Walmart and then the next one just wrapped up after 3 months beside the church.

There will be at least one more disruption for the planned traffic circle at Hogan Road and then presumably more disruption as they finish the side walk and curbing down the entire length and hopefully install lighting. From a civic pride perspective, contractors are allowed to continue to leave sites as they see fit for as long as they see fit. Piles of garbage and hills of dirt left until the very end of the project and traffic cones etc left in place even after they are no longer needed.

We can do better!
