January 9, 1941 – March 27, 2025
It is with sadness that we share that Valerie passed away peacefully in her 84th year, on March 27, 2025.
Valerie is lovingly remembered by her husband, Raymond, who she has been married to for 65 years. She will be missed by her daughter, Wendy; grandchildren, Bryan (Natalya) and Megan; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Bryce and Brooklyn; and her brother, Gary (Gail) Neduzak. Valerie was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Frances Neduzak; sister, Joan Kotchon; son, Les; and granddaughter, Sarah.
Raymond’s employment took Valerie across the western provinces, residing in Winnipeg, St. Albert, Tsawwassen and a return to St. Albert in their retirement.
Valerie enjoyed socializing with family and friends. She liked walking along the paths by the Sturgeon River and the ocean at Boundary Bay Regional Park. She was an avid reader, had a green thumb, enjoyed travelling and liked to discuss current events with others. She loved attending live theatre and music concerts. Valerie prepared family favourite Ukrainian dishes, varenyky and holubtsi for holiday gatherings.
Thank you to the Youville Home Unit 2 staff, for making Valerie feel at ease during her final years. Thank you to the Sturgeon Community Hospital’s doctors and nurses who made Valerie’s final days comfortable.
