PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Ondrej Becher scored twice and notched an assist Tuesday as the Prince George Cougars clawed out a decisive 5-1 win over the Kelowna Rockets in Western Hockey League action.

Ethan Samson had a goal and a helper for the Cougars (22-21-4), while Jaxsen Wiebe and Riley Heidt also scored. Chase Wheatcroft registered three assists.

The Rockets (17-27-3) opened the scoring with a goal from Gabriel Szturc 19:39 into the first period.

Tyler Brennan made 19 saves for Prince George and Kelowna goalie Talyn Boyko stopped 29-of-34 shots.
