Ottawa Rapid FC cruises past lowly Halifax Tides FC 5-0 in NSL action

OTTAWA — Delaney Baie Pridham scored her league-leading 16th goal of the season as Ottawa Rapid FC cruised to a 5-0 home win over Halifax Tides FC on Thursday in Northern Super League action.

Pridham opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Ottawa (8-6-4) took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Min-a Lee quickly got things going in the second half, padding the Rapid's lead in the 46th minute.

Olivia Scott in the 66th minute, Melanie Forbes in the 77th minute and Stella Downing in the 83rd minute put the game out of reach for Ottawa, which jumped into third in the standings with the win.

Halifax (3-11-3), meanwhile, had its winless streak extended to eight games (0-6-2). The Tides' last win came on July 7 in a 1-0 decision over Calgary.

Ottawa welcomes Montreal on Sept. 7, while Halifax next hosts league-best AFC Toronto on Sept. 6.
