The latest news on the COVID-19 global pandemic (all times Eastern):

4:20 p.m.

B.C. is reporting 21 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the province's total to 2,428.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says 355 of those cases are active.

One more person has died after contracting the novel coronavirus, raising the province's death toll to 141.

Henry says there are no new community outbreaks, but there are ongoing outbreaks in 15 long-term care facilities and five acute care units, as well as a fruit and vegetable processing facility in Coquitlam.

She says new guidelines for businesses that are allowed to begin reopening on Tuesday are now available on the province's website.

4:20 p.m.

A COVID-19 outbreak at a long-term care facility in a northern Saskatchewan community is over.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority says it is ending an outbreak declaration for the facility at the La Loche Health Centre, which had been in effect since April 17.

The authority says the decision came after the standard 28-day period passed without a new positive case.

Northern medical health officer Dr. Rim Zayed cautions in a news release that exhaustive work continues as the health authority and local community leaders work together to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the area.

1:30 p.m.

Quebec is reporting an additional 82 deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the province's total to 3,483.

The province says there are 763 new confirmed cases, raising the total to 42,183. A total of 11,458 people have recovered.

There are 1,763 in hospital with the virus, a reduction of 59.

Of those, 179 people are in intensive care.

12:40 p.m.

Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 for the ninth consecutive day.

The total number of confirmed cases in the province remains at 260, while three people have died as a result of the virus.

Three people are currently in hospital, with one in intensive care.

Health officials say 249 people have recovered after contracting COVID-19.

12:30 p.m.

Amazon says it will be ending its pandemic-related pay incentives for workers in its Canadian warehouses at the end of the month.

Company spokesperson Kelly Cheeseman confirmed Saturday the online retail giant will stop paying employees the extra $2 per hour and double overtime incentives they had been receiving since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Amazon's pay incentives were initially supposed to end at the end of April but the company extended the program in the U.S. and Canada through May 30.

The retail company has been criticized by employees in the U.S. and Canada for allegedly not doing enough to protect workers from COVID-19 and for not offering adequate support to employees who fall sick from the virus.

11:50 a.m.

Public health officials in New Brunswick say there are no longer any active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

They say while the number of confirmed cases remains at 120, the number of active cases is zero and all of those who had contracted the virus have recovered.

The province has conducted a total of 20,032 tests to date.

New Brunswick is currently in phase 2 of its COVID-19 recovery plan, which is aimed at the reopening of businesses and activities while working to prevent a resurgence of transmission.

11:50 a.m.

Nova Scotia is reporting three new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,037.

No new deaths are reported, keeping the province's total at 55.

Health officials say eight people are currently in hospital, with four in intensive care.

Nova Scotia has 35,703 negative test results, while 930 people have now recovered and their cases of COVID-19 are considered resolved.

10:30 a.m.

Ontario is reporting 391 new cases of COVID-19 and 33 new deaths today.

There province now has a total of 22,313 confirmed cases, 1,858 deaths and 17,020 resolved cases.

The increase in cases represents a 1.8 per cent growth over yesterday's total.
