BRAMPTON, Ont. — MDA has signed a contract worth $190 million to support robotic operations on the International Space Station (ISS).

The contract includes ongoing operations and maintenance of the Canadian contribution to the ISS, including Canadarm2, Dextre and the mobile base system.

The contract is to run from 2020 to 2024.

It also includes an option for Canada to extend the term of the contract by up to four additional one-year periods under the same conditions.

The company says the contract will establish a solid base of business for the next four years for MDA's robotics teams based in Brampton, Ont., St-Hubert, Que., and Houston.

MDA was acquired last month by a consortium led by Toronto-based investment firm Northern Private Capital.
