Impact 1 premier

The St. Albert Impact 1 (Spaidal) premier women’s team has two matches remaining to catch Northwest United for the division pennant in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

A first-place finish would also secure a spot in the Alberta Major Soccer League next year.

The Impact (14-2, 59 GF/15 GA) are in Sherwood Park on Tuesday to play Phoenix (7-7-2) and the season finale is Aug. 7 against Northwest United (14-0-1, 51 GF/5 GA) at 6:30 p.m. at ESA Complex.

Northwest United, which has a major league team in its fold, is one point ahead of the Impact with a match in hand.

The Impact are coming off a 5-0 decision against Angels Scottish SC (8-7-1) Tuesday at Riel Park.

Sheena Tracey and Casey Paplawski led the attack with two goals apiece and Jamie Misiaszek was in net for the clean sheet.

Tracey and Paplawski share the team lead in goals with nine apiece and Jazmyne Mauthe has eight.

Impact 2 premier

The pressure is on St. Albert Impact 2 (Bourbonnais/Brown) to beat Northwest United in support of the Impact 1 team’s quest for top spot in the premier women’s table.

Tuesday’s kickoff is 6:30 p.m. at Riel Park.

Seven wins and 19 points separate the fifth-place Impact and the division leaders in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

The Impact posted two wins in three days by identical 4-0 scores against the Wind (1-14-1) and Rionero FC (1-12-1).

Shawna Sayaphet potted a pair and singles were tallied by Ryleigh Bridges and Freya Feely against the Wind on Sunday.

Sayaphet’s goal against the Rionero FC was her seventh of the season and is tied for 10th place in the division scoring race.

Marisa Roaquin, Christie Wong and Megan Algeo also found the back of the net Tuesday.

Impact 3 premier

The St. Albert Impact 3 (Murphy) premier women can also assist their Impact 1 sister team with a victory against Northwest United on Sunday.

Kickoff is 2 p.m. at Goldstick Park.

The Impact (4-10-1) also plays Rionero FC at 7 p.m. July 31 at Riel Park.

The last match was the 5-2 loss to third-place Victoria (12-2-1) Tuesday.

Brittany Boe and Mackenzie Sharun found the back of the net at Victoria Soccer Club.

Division 1A Impact

The St. Albert Impact 4 (Murphy) division 1A women’s team needs one win in its last two matches to qualify for the Tier 1 provincial playoffs in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

On tap for the Impact is Olympia FC (3-6-3) Monday at Riel Park and FC Magic (3-8-1) Aug. 13 at ESA Complex. Kickoff times are 6:30 p.m.

The top two teams qualify for the playdowns and the Impact (8-2-2, 54 GF/20 GA) are two points behind first-place FC Excelsior (9-2-1, 34 GF/16 GA) in the division table.

The last match for the Impact was 7-0 against Azzurri (0-10-2) Monday at Riel Park.

Brittany Kindzierski racked up four goals for a division best 19 on the season.

Shyanne Walton connected twice and Kaitlyn Diduck scored her ninth goal as Kathleen Lang posted the shutout.

Rangers soccer

The St. Albert Rangers close out the division 1A men’s fixtures with two matches in three days in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

The Rangers (2-6-3) are in action July 28 against Croatia Hajduk (4-6-2) at 6 p.m. at ESA Complex and Monday against the Edmonton Warriors (7-5) at 7 p.m. at Eastglen High School.

The Rangers are 1-2-2 in the last five matches after Monday’s 3-0 loss against Futballers FC (8-2-2) at ESA Complex.

Goalkeeper Zach Black kept it close for the Rangers, who couldn’t get much done on the few chances they had.

Noah Boyko is the team’s top scorer with seven and Daniel Czwartkowski has five.
