Nine teams are split into three pools and the Tigers play the Calgary Longhorns at 8:30 p.m. Friday and the junior AAA St. Albert Cardinals at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Nine teams are confirmed for the annual Tigers Baseball Association tournament this weekend at Legion Memorial Park.

The 16-game schedule for the Landrex and Physioworks field is as follows.

Pool A: senior AAA St. Albert Tigers (Sunburst Baseball League) Calgary Longhorns, junior AAA St. Albert Cardinals.

Pool B: Red Deer Riggers (2017 Sunburst champions), midget AAA SEEBA Cardinals, Sherwood Park Athletics (Sunburst).

Pool C: midget AAA St. Albert Cardinals, Blue Willow Angels, Confederation Park Cubs (Sunburst).

Friday/June 22

6:30 p.m. midget AAA Cardinals vs. Confederation Park, Landrex.

7 p.m. SEEBA vs. Sherwood Park, Physioworks.

8:30 p.m. Calgary vs. Tigers, Landrex.

Saturday/June 23

1 p.m. Confederation Park vs. Blue Willow, Physioworks.

2 p.m. Red Deer vs. SEEBA, Landrex.

4 p.m. junior AAA Cardinals vs. Calgary, Physioworks.

5 p.m. Sherwood Park vs. Red Deer, Landrex.

7 p.m. Blue Willow vs. midget AAA Cardinals, Physioworks.

8 p.m. Tigers vs. junior AAA Cardinals, Landrex.

Sunday/June 24

9 a.m. 9th vs. 8th, Physioworks.

10 a.m. 1st pool A vs. 1st pool B, Landrex.

12 p.m. 7th vs. 6th, Physioworks.

1 p.m. 1st pool B vs. 1st pool C, Landrex.

3 p.m. 5th vs. 4th, Physioworks.

4 p.m. 1st pool C vs. 1st pool A, Landrex.

7 p.m. final, Landrex.

Once again the popular beer gardens will be in operation all three days.

Last year’s tournament featured eight teams and in the final Sherwood Park beat the Blue Willow, which are the senior AA Edmonton Blackhawks in the North Central Alberta Baseball League, 13-2.

Since 1991, the tournament has been rained out eight times, including 2016 and three years in a row from 2011 to 2013.

Crude at home

Six games remain for the St. Albert Crude before the junior B Tier I playoffs in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse league, including four at home starting Friday at Akinsdale Arena.

Ball drop is 8 p.m. against the Barracuda Fish (0-9) of Regina.

Sunday the Crude host the Sherwood Park Titans at 7:30 p.m.

The Crude are winless in five games after Sunday’s 10-8 loss to the Titans at Strathcona Olympiette Centre.

The Crude also dropped Saturday’s 18-8 decision to the Manitoba Blizzard (12-0) in St. Albert.

The Crude (3-11) and Titans (2-9) are ranked third and fourth, respectively, in the four-team north division.
