Metro Edmonton senior division volleyball is back in action today after the Thanksgiving weekend for the Bellerose Bulldogs, Paul Kane Blues, St. Albert Skyhawks and Sturgeon Spirits.
In division one, the Paul Kane (1-5) men visit the Strathcona Christian Academy Eagles (4-2), the 2016 3A provincial champions. Start time is 5 p.m.
The division one women’s matches are 5 p.m. for the Blues at Spruce Grove Panthers (1-5) and 6:30 p.m. for the Skyhawks (1-5) at the Edmonton Christian Lions (2-3), last year’s 2A provincial bronze medallists.
In division two, the men’s matches are 5 p.m. between the Skyhawks (4-1) and Leduc Tigers (0-5) at the SkyDome and 6:30 p.m. for the Bulldogs (6-0) at Holy Trinity Trojans (2-3).
The division two lady Spirits (1-5) also host the Parkland Immanuel Penguins (0-5) at 6:30 p.m.
In division three, the Sturgeon (5-0) men play the J. Percy Page Panthers (1-5) at 5 p.m. at Namao and the lady Bulldogs (5-1) have the week off.

Thursday the Paul Kane Blues tackle the winless Eastglen Blue Devils in division two Miles conference football.
The pool A contest kicks off at 5 p.m. at Clarke Stadium.
The last game for the Blues (3-1) was Thursday’s 12-3 defensive barnburner against the pool B St. Francis Xavier Rams (1-3) at Johnny Bright Park.
The score after three quarters was 6-0.
Mo Tarrabain punched the ball in from the three in the first quarter and Jake Strakowicz rattled off a 65-yard punt return touchdown in the fourth. Both two-point conversions were unsuccessful.
The Blues moved the ball at times but numerous opportunities were wasted on penalties that either wiped out big plays or killed drives.
The defence bent but didn’t break during another solid performance.
The Blues wrap up league play next Wednesday against the Ardrossan Bisons (2-2) at 7:30 p.m. at Larry Olexiuk Field.
The playoffs kick-off Oct. 23 with the pool A and B crossover quarter-finals.
The Blues and pool B McNally Tigers (4-0) are also in the running to claim the second metro Edmonton berth in the Tier II (750 to 1,249 students) provincial north semifinals. The Austin O’Brien Crusaders are the first metro rep as the only Tier II team in the division one Carr conference.
In the Football Alberta Tier II rankings, the Crusaders (3-2) are sixth, McNally is 10th and the Blues are unranked.
