The St. Albert Rush U16 ringette team was crowned the Kelowna Sweetheart Tournament champions Sunday.
In the final the Rush rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat Westview 4-2 to finish undefeated in the tournament.
In the 10-team junior B draw the Rush beat Calgary Southview 8-1 and the Fraser Valley Fury 4-3, tied Westside 2-2 and edged Vernon 4-3 for a berth in the medal round.
In semifinal action the Rush prevailed 3-2 against the St. Albert Illusion.
In the third-place game the Illusion dropped a 4-2 decision to Calgary Platinum.
The Rush are Hanna Voigt, Erica Harris, Sydney Kozuska, Isabella Tosto, Shaylee Albert, Karlissa Fauchon, Emily Greene, Shae Hartley, Jennaye Bellerose, Madison Hologroski, Brianne Roulston, Isabelle Ouimet, Chelsea Hubbard, Diana DeJong and goalie Grace Bellerose. Head coach is Jeff Kozuska and assistant coaches are Frank Tosto, Tracy Roulston, Cindy Hubbard and Pam Albert.
