Alberta Summer Games
The provincial Summer Games will take over Grande Prairie this year with St. Albert athletes representing Zone 5 (Black Gold/Yellowhead).Forty-five athletes will be heading north from St. Albert to compete in events such as rugby, football, baseball, basketball, and track and field. Two athletes are travelling to the Games from Gibbons, three from Sturgeon County, two from Morinville and two from Calahoo.
The July 19 to 22 competition for athletes aged 11 to 17 years old is comprised of 13 sports, and more than 3,000 athletes, coaches and officials from eight zones will participate.

Impact soccer
Two of the St. Albert Impact women’s soccer clubs will be in action this weekend.On Sunday, the St. Albert Impact 2 will face off against the Wind. The Impact 2 squad sits in fifth place, while the Wind sits in ninth.
So far this year the Impact 2 have won five matches, lost five and tied three. They have scored 18 goals and allowed 18 goals against so far. The Wind stand at 1-11-1. They have scored 13 goals and allowed 58 goals against.
The two teams have faced off already this season with the Impact 2 winning 3-1.
Sunday's game kicks off at 4 p.m. at the ESA Complex 8 in Edmonton.
The Impact 1 are in action this weekend against Hearts United. The Impact 1 sit in third place in the league standings with 11 wins and two losses.
The Impact 1 are chasing a first-place finish so they can advance to the major league next season.
The Hearts United club sits in seventh place with a record of 4-8-1. The team has scored 10 goals for the year and allowed 23 against.
The two teams have faced off already this year with the Impact coming out on top 1-0.
