Sturgeon County's Jaxon Pisani, who is former Edmonton Oiler Fernando Pisani's youngest son, was picked 39th overall by the Everett Silvertips in the WHL draft on Thursday.
Pisani, a defenceman, is the third member of the 2023-2024 St. Albert Sabres U15 AAA team to be drafted so far, behind forwards Luke Ruptash (16th) and Ossie McIntyre (7th).
With the provincial championship winning Sabres this past season Pisani managed to put up nine goals and 37 assists, and his 46 regular season points were enough for fifth on the team.

Pisani will join a Silvertips roster that also now includes Landon DuPont of Calgary, who the team drafted 1st overall on Thursday.
DuPont, 14, is just the second youngster to be granted exceptional status by the WHL — the other being Connor Bedard — meaning that he will be eligible to play in the upcoming WHL season full-time rather than having to wait until his 16-year-old season.
