The St. Albert Skyhawks kicked it up a notch in the metro Edmonton co-ed indoor soccer league after losing last year's final.
The 10th win in 11 games without a loss for the Skyhawks was last week's 2-1 decision over the Salisbury Sabres for the division two championship.
Last year the Skyhawks (7-3-2, 47 GF/36 GA) were the division two finalists.
This year the final was knotted at one late in the second half when Connor Dumonceaux took a rebound off the back wall and fired it into the far side of the net for the game winner.
Lucas Palladino also scored and goalkeeper Koen Klinge was outstanding while pulling off several difficult saves.
The Skyhawks finished 10-0-1 (56 GF/19 GA) as the top division two team in the regular season and Salisbury (9-2, 66 GF/30 GA overall) was ranked second in the nine-team table.
