The Bellerose Bulldogs and Paul Kane Blues were in a zone Wednesday as metro Edmonton curling champions.
Bellerose won the mixed title and Paul Kane was the top female rink at the zone finals at the Ottewell Curling Club.
The Bellerose rink of skip Noah Penner, third Carmyn Penner, second Kellen Bryks and lead Holly Gerrard defeated the O'Leary Spartans 9-5 to finish 4-0 in the 10-team zone bonspiel and one of the victories was 6-5 against O'Leary in the A bracket.
Penner and Bryks also curled on the Bellerose A team that lost the metro division two final 5-4 to Strathcona B in league play.
The Paul Kane rink of Brennin Turner, Rebecca Geary, Serapina Wong, Anna Smith and Emmarie Brown knocked off the Bev Facey Falcons 8-5 after edging the Sherwood Park team 10-9 in a back and forth A-B playoff.
Paul Kane started the three-team draw with a 10-3 setback to Facey and in the B event beat the Leduc Tigers 6-4.

In league play, the Paul Kane D team lost 11-5 to Harry Ainlay Titans B in the division one final
The Northern Alberta Hockey League regular season is drawing to a close for St. Albert's midget AA teams.
The Sports for Sports Crusaders (17-11-2, 109 GF/84 GA) host the Fort McMurray Barons (5-18-7) tonight at 8:30 p.m. at Mark Messier Arena.
The last league game is March 5 against the Leduc Roughnecks at 4 p.m. in Leduc.
Sunday the Blues (22-5-2, 122 GF/59 GA) play SSAC Don Wheaton (10-16-3) at 4 p.m. at Confederation Arena and Sunday's game against SSAC Lakewood Chevrolet (17-9-4) starts at 8:30 p.m. at Go Auto Arena.
The Blues wrap up league play March 3 against the Canadian Athletic Club (8-17-4) at 8:45 p.m. at Mark Messier Arena.
The league playoff tournament starts March 7.
The Blues are first in the Anderson division and the Crusaders are tied for second in the Besa division of the Metro conference standings.
Zach Carlson is the top scorer for the Blues with 22 goals and 49 points and Kiegan Miller leads the Crusaders with 18 goals and 32 points.
Today marks the last game before the players for the bantam elite St. Albert Raiders in the Alberta Female Hockey League.
Faceoff is 12:30 p.m. between the Raiders (21-3-1, 71 GF/27 GA) and Red Deer Chiefs (7-15-2) in Penhold.
The Raiders are ranked first overall in the AFHL as the north division leaders.
Last weekend the Raiders posted wins of 3-1 over the Sherwood Park Royals (15-7-2) in St. Albert and 4-0 against the North Central Impact (8-16) in Leduc.
Elle Boyko (1.10 GAA) stopped 19 shots against the Impact for her league-high 12th win and the shutout was her fourth of the season and the team's eighth.
Jaidia Pisani tallied twice and Madison Murray and Robyn Short also scored.
Libby Langenhahn potted a pair against the Royals for a team-high 16 goals and 19 points.
Bronwyn Boucher also found the back of the net and Boyko was tested 23 times.
